Vinnie Watson

Vinnie Watson - President

Vinnie Watson is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School ( Montgomery, AL),  Coastal Training Institute (Montgomery, AL), and Troy University (Montgomery Campus).

Vinnie is currently employed with the Alabama State Council on the Arts with Baptist Medical Center South (Montgomery, AL).

Vinnie joined Women In Touch, Inc(WIT) in January 2010, but before joining, she volunteered for many years in various fundraising campaigns. She is very passionate about working with children and seniors and volunteering in many areas of her community. Her motto is: “Expect Only the Best and Accept No Less.”

Vinnie attends Old Augusta Baptist Church and serves as the church secretary, youth advisor, and teaches children’s church.  

Tammy Scott Williams

Tammy Scott Williams - Vice President

Tammy Scott Williams joined Women In Touch, Inc in June 2016. She has been employed with the State of Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education for almost 17 years. She is a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. She earned a B.S. Degree in Resource Management from Troy University of Montgomery. 

Tammy attends Frazier United Methodist Church and serves as a volunteer in the Coffee shop. She has also volunteered in the church nursery and served as an usher in the Contemporary Worship Service. She enjoys attending church, riding her bike, reading,  and surfing the internet. 

Tammy has a strong passion for helping people. She strives to assist individuals to reach their full capacity in life. She joined Women In Touch to serve the community by helping those in need. She enjoys working children and seniors and spending time with her family. Tammy has been married for 16 years and has a large, blended family.

Faye McCall

Faye McCall - Secretary

Faye McCall has a long history in State Government service. She had the privilege and pleasure of working with three Attorney Generals, four Governors, three Chief Justices of the Alabama Supreme Court, the Finance Director, and the United States Attorney of the Middle District of Alabama. Her career spanned over 40 years. After retiring from the Governor’s Office in 2019, she enjoys spending time with family, taking care of her plants, and working in the yard. 

She is married to Daniel McCall, Jr., and she is a busy wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

She is actively involved in ‘The Way International’: a worldwide nondenominational Biblical research, teaching, and fellowship ministry headquartered in New Knoxville, Ohio. Faye and Daniel serve as Assistant Coordinators for the Selma-Montgomery Fellowship. 

Faye has been with Women In Touch(WIT) since 1994. She joined so that she could give back to the community. She takes great pride in the work that WIT does. She bases her life on the scripture as written in Colossians 3:23-24: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

Sheila Smith Morrissette

Sheila Smith Morrissette - Assistant Secretary

Sheila Smith Morrissette is a native of Prattville, AL and attended Prattville High School. She graduated from the University of Montevallo with a major Business Management and a minor in Communication Arts. 

Sheila is currently employed with the State of Alabama and is also an Associate Real Estate Broker with Bo Evans Realty company. She finds much satisfaction in serving others and assisting them in finding a place to call home. 

Sheila is a member of the Goodship Missionary Baptist Church in Millbrook, AL. She has been married for 29 years to Albert and they have two beautiful sons, Trajan and Jackson and three loveable Rottweilers: Dolph, Sheba, and Sissy. 

Sheila joined WIT in 2018 because of her passion to serve. She loves her family and believes in putting in the work to make all families whole. Women In Touch, Inc has always been active in the community and they are making a difference where it counts. She prides herself on being part of an organization who believes in making families whole one need at a time. 

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Barbara Edwatds

Barbara Edwards - Treasurer

Barbara Edwards was born in Birmingham, AL, but grew up in Montgomery. She is a proud 1970 graduate of G.W. Carver High School. She has a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Troy University and is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Montgomery. 

Barbara retired in April 2018 from the Alabama State Council on the Arts where she held several positions. After over 39 years of service, she retired as Deputy Director.

She loves her family, her church, and strongly believes in the awesome power of God. She is a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother.  She is an active member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she teaches Sunday school and serves on the Trustee Board. 

Barbara has been a member of Women In Touch since 1986 and strongly believes in giving back to the community and in supporting positive growth and development in young people.

Venessa Watkins

Vanessa Watkins - Assistant Treasurer

Vanessa is a born and bred Montgomery, AL native. After graduating Jefferson Davis High School, she enrolled at Alabama State University on an academic scholarship and earned a B.S. Degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology in August 1982.

Vanessa is a 34-year veteran employee with the State of Alabama. She is currently employed at the Alabama Department of Labor as Director of the Hearings and Appeals Division. Additionally, she holds a real estate salesperson license with the State of Alabama.

Growing up on a dairy farm in south Montgomery County, Vanessa witnessed the realities of financial poverty, yet her life was rich with culture, positive role models, and a “village” that taught her the virtues of good character building through obedient, respect, sincerity, generosity, prudence, and above all, the value of education. It is these growth experiences that led her to join the inspiring women of Women In Touch, Inc., in fall 2019. She finds the organization’s commitment to the betterment of the community and their spiritual and intimate approach to their mission is what makes them special. 

Mildred Buford

Mildred Buford - Financial Secretary

Mildred Buford is a former school teacher and counselor. She retired from the Bullock County School System. For the past couple of years, she has been enjoying, exploring, and getting acquainted with retirement. It has brought her closer to God. “The joy of the Lord is my strength, The Lord is strength of my life.” Her hobbies consist of reading, educational brain/word games, and playing with her grandkids. 

Mildred is the daughter of the late Willie and Geraldine Buford of Union Springs, AL. They met in church, he was the Superintendent of the Sunday school and she was the secretary. Mildred is one of seven children. While growing, her family had to share and love each other because they were in close quarters. Her parents made sure the kids had what they needed and took very good care of them, despite having to sacrifice on many things. 

Mildred has one beautiful daughter, Alicia, who is married to Joshua, a very ambitious and talented young man. They have two children, Joshua, Jr. and Kenedee. Those are Mildred’s talented and innovative grandchildren. She is very proud to be a grandmother. 

She is a member of Lilly Baptist Church. There, she serves on the L. E. Treadwell Usher Board, member of the Sunday school class, and member of the Matron III Missionary Society. She is also a member of WIT, the 60’s Birthday Club, and an Online Bible Study Group. 

One of Mildred’s favorite Bible verses from Proverbs 3:5-6 follows: “I trust in the Lord with all of my heart, and I lean not unto my own understanding. In all of my ways I acknowledge Him and He directs my path.” 

Ollie M. Currie

Ollie M. Currie - Chaplain

Ollie M. Currie is a native of Alabama. She attended the Hale County Training School in Greensboro, AL and graduated from high school before relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College where she studied Mathematics of Science and after working in the Accounting and Underwriting Departments of Time Insurance Company, Ollie retired after 25-plus years. 

She has been married to Donald Currie, Sr. for 46 years and is the mother of two children, Tamira Fleming and Donald Currie, Jr. Ollie had five grandchildren: Jirah, Mariah, Craig Jr., Kayla, and Donald III(Tre).

Her hobby is working with children. Ollie is a Sunday school teacher in the children department at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. 

After retirement in 2007, Ollie relocated to Montgomery, AL where she passed the state examination and earned her insurance license and is now an independent insurance broker in the Currie Insurance Agency. She is a member of the International Association Professionals in Montgomery, AL, Region III.

Ollie’s favorite food are chicken and chocolate. She loves to travel and her horoscope sign is Cancer. 

Terri Robinson

Terri Robinson - Public Relations

Terri Robinson is a Realtor with Residential Movement Real Estate, AL and is from the Central Montgomery Tri-County area. Terri has over a decade of experience working in public service and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Accounting from Alabama State University. She also has a Certified Public Accountant license and a strong background in Auditing. 

In her spare time, Terri loves to decorate homes, travel, volunteer with local organizations, and spend time with family and friends. Terri’s love for the community and business background is what fuels her ambition as a Real Estate Agent. She understands that purchasing and/or reselling real estate is one of the greatest investment decisions one will ever make, therefore, she’s dedicated to providing invaluable experiences for each and every one of her clients. 

Sabrina Cleveland

Sabrina Cleveland - Parliamentarian

Sabrina Cleveland is the wife of Anthony Cleveland, mother of Jailyn Cleveland and the the late King Robinson, grandmother of Nicolai Robinson, and godmother to many. She is a new member of Women In Touch, Inc. seeking to serve the community in a new way. She joined WIT in memory of Jackie Bibb. 

Sabrina has been employed by Alfa Insurance since 1996 as a personal line underwriter. She earned her Bacholer’s Degree from Auburn University Montgomery in Communications. Sabrina is also a videographer/photographer with Clevdesigns LLC. 

Sabrina is a member of the Stonetank Antioch Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL.

Carol Batiste

Carol Batiste - Scholarship Committee Chair

Carol Batiste is the proud mother of two sons, Andre’ I. Billups, currently a manager at Michael Kors and Sgt Aaron A. Billups, a MP in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii. She also has two bonus daughters, LaShabra Woods (in heaven) and Allonetta McDaniels. She’s also the grandmother (Chi Chi) to twins, Kayla and Kylie Billups, Zia Grace Billups and bonus grandbabies, Jalhani Woods and Alon McDaniels. She is a Class of ’81 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Alabama State University with a B.S. and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in English. 

Carol taught for 29 years in the Montgomery Public School System. During that time, she was voted Garrett Elementary School’s first Teacher of the Year in May 2000. She was also the WAKA Golden Apple Recipient in October 2012 and again in 2013. Carol retired from MPS in May 2016, but due to her love of children, immediately began teaching at Success Unlimited Academy in August 2016 where she was voted Success Unlimited Academy’s Teacher of the Year for 2016/2017. Carol in now self-employed and is the owner of “The Teacher’s Desk” and is an Educational Resource Consultant.

Carol joined WIT in July 2017 in which she is a vibrant, conscientious contributor. In addition, she has been a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church since she was a child. She also volunteers for the MCOA Meals on Wheels program, delivering hot meals to seniors monthly with an additional frozen meal route to seniors not yet on the hot meals route, weekly. Carol also worked as her neighborhood’s association secretary for three years and was on the neighborhood beautification committee for a year. She was the leader and coordinator of an African Dance Team for four years, supervising, facilitating auditions and coordination dance routines for 34 male and female students, Grades 3-6. She also authored five children’s books with her students. Her motto is “Educate our young while keeping our history alive by not forgetting our seniors.”

Vickey Matthew McLester

Vickey Matthew McLester - Scholarship Committee Co-Chair

Vickey is a MSgt in the Air Force Reserve with 32 years of service. She also works as Logistics Support Manager for the Department of Defense with 16 years of service. 

She has been a member of Women In Touch, Inc. since 2019. She is a member of Old Augusta Baptist Church and loves working with the youth. 

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business Administration from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical College. She is also a Master Resilience Trainer, which specializes in teaching individuals to cope and maintain in everyday society. 

Vickey is the proud mother of two children and a handsome grandchild. Her hobbies are reading and dancing. Her favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

Rebechia Givhan

Rebechia Givhan - Scholarship Committee Co-Chair

Rebechia Curry Givhan is a native of Montgomery, AL. She graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in Social Science while minoring in Sociology in 2012 and followed up with a Master’s of Counseling and Psychology, specializing in Student Affairs in 2017. She has a total of 12 years experience working as a teacher with the Montgomery Community Action Head Start Agency, as well as in the Montgomery Public School System. Rebechia has one year experience as a Social Service Caseworker with the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources where she assisted surrounding counties in providing high quality care for children and their families. 

Since 2018, Rebechia has been employed with the State of Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education as an Early Childhood Development Coach. She volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate(CASA) for children of Montgomery County, being there voice in the courtroom. With the mindset and skills to service others, Rebechia and her husband, Antonio, are owners of Learning By Faith Counseling, LLC., as a Licensed Counselor. 

Rebechia is ambitious, hardworking, and a devoted individual that takes pride in successful contributions to change thousands of live from diverse backgrounds by assisting non-profit organizations with achieving their goals. She is excited to be a member of Women In Touch as it will give her the opportunity to touch lives of those within her reach. 

Rebechia is thrilled about helping others reach their potential. She enjoys working with children and families. She has been married for 6 years and loves spending time with her family. Rebechia is elated to learn from others an embark on this wonderful path of Women In Touch, Inc.
